My paintings are all inspired by my surroundings. I live in Ferring and have constant inspiration in the Sea, Sky and feathered visitors to our shores. My husband and I also travel regularly in our fifth wheel caravan where I sketch, paint and photograph subjects to paint back home in my studio.
Six years ago my painting was put on hold due to ill health. I was then diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondilitis and had to adapt to a new quieter lifestyle. We moved from Brighton, where I had Founded and had run the “Patcham Open Houses Trail” for over a decade, over to Ferring, West Sussex. Here in this peaceful village by the sea I not only regained strength but found inspiration which ,although I wasn’t able to paint for a few years, when I did , expressed itself in Seascapes and my new found love of seabirds.
I haven’t given up painting people altogether, I recently painted ” Worthing Pier through the Tamarisks” but whereas Portraits and Figurative were my main genre now the figures are part of the Landscape.
