Karen is a mixed-media artist who creates semi-abstract landscapes. Her paintings are inspired by her love of walking over hills and by the sea.

She works from sketches, photographs, memories of places and her imagination to create a landscape. She builds her work in layers, responding to marks made as her work evolves.
She likes to combine drawn and painted marks and enjoys experimenting with different mark-making techniques.
