Abode; fired clay, coiled, wax finish

The source and inspiration for my sculptures is the natural world.  Sometimes I begin by sketching  in the landscape, or I may bring objects back home to work with.  My intuition and imagination play a large part in the development of each piece.  More recently I have been using metal such as copper, recycling it from the scrap yard.  Each piece comes with its own history and patina;  the material and surface then become an integral part of the sculpture.

I use different materials to combine the different elements. My imagination comes into play, and the forms evolve; the sculptures are open to interpretation.

Some of my sculptures and several paintings were in two Artists’ Open Houses in Brighton and Lewes in 2018, and also at “Divergence” in London in March, 2019.
