Whilst on holiday St Ives, I discovered Glass Fusion by Jo Downs. At the time I had just started the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at West Dean College expecting to specialise in Oil Painting. I booked my first Glass Fusion course with Alex Robinson (now Powell) and fell in love with the medium. I gained my Diploma in 2013 and am now enjoying working in my own studio in the garden.
Once I had discovered Glass Fusion I realised how important colour is in my world. I work with Spectrum 96 Glass and love the colours and how the light shines through it. Most of my work is two layers of 3mm glass with the under side usually clear glass. I enjoy making bowls and dishes along with Jewelry and hanging light catchers.
I have exhibited in the Foyer at West Dean College and taken part in the Adur Art Trail in 2014, 2015,2016 & 2018. Pieces of my work have now found their way to Canada, Bermuda, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
My work is available at the Shoreham Art Gallery.
