Teresa Martin – Tortoise Psychosis

What is your greatest joy when creating?
I like the transfer of creative energy into a new form. Some works take more than 18 months to complete, absorbing huge amount of sustained faith and concentration. When they finally go on show, the public reaction replenishes your spirit again.

To relax I work from my studio creating stencil art, lino-printing, painting, write short stories and create miniature sculptures from found objects in my spare time. I suppose I write as an outlet for my creativity, I’m not interested in fame and fortune. What I would like though is to share my work with others.

My mixed media and textile work are a response to what I find in my natural surroundings. Activities around foraging, collecting, experimenting with wet and dry media processes are inspired by a year residency at Sussex Prairie Gardens.
