Following this term’s successful beginnings, I shall be inviting students this term to take their sketchbooks out and about on location, around the town, river and landscape of Arundel.
Working small, with portable materials, makes the great outdoors so much more accessible.
Keeping a Visual Diary can be a great way of developing ideas, letting things emerge through regular drawing, providing an exciting space to work in, and a fascinating record of your creative thought processes.
This term, the sketchbooks could be used to create a rich source material for those wishing to make work from the landscape in other media e.g. painting in their own practice.
