Daniel Griffiths trained as a blacksmith at Hereford before going on to study fine-art sculpture at Norwich School of Art. His work now combines both disciplines, drawing on traditional and contemporary craft techniques to create beautiful and powerful animal sculptures in a variety of metals. His work reflects a love of our native wildlife which grew from his childhood in the rural Welsh borders.
Daniel now works in Stanmer Park at Stanmer Forge, on the outskirts of Brighton. Many of the techniques he now uses would be familiar to the craftsmen whose industry shaped the landscape of the Weald centuries ago.
