This term we will be heading outside to draw from the landscape and urban environment, building on last term’s studio sessions. This course can be an introduction to drawing, or a refresher for those with experience. All the sessions are based partly on observation, giving you the skills for improving your ‘eye’. Alongside this, there will be room for experimentation and appreciating that drawings can emerge out of sometimes quite ‘messy’ starting points. This is to help get over the fear of the blank page, the fear that you may ‘go wrong’ – there is no such thing as a wrong drawing: a drawing is a drawing, a line is a line, a mark is a mark.
