I have a lifelong interest in wildlife and animal behavior and this informs most of my current work.
I have travelled the world several times and never cease to be amazed by the diversity of life on our planet. I don’t want to capture a generic view of a creature, but need to delve deeper, to expose its inner personality. There should be a relationship between the creature portrayed and the human viewing it.
I paint fairly intuitively in acrylic, but my work is based on close observation and research, aided by my degree in design. I studied zoology, am a keen scuba diver and have worked for conservation groups.
A BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year winner, my work has been selected or preselected by the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, the South West Academy, the Society of Wildlife Artists, London, and the RWE Academy.
