I am a Brighton artist and I paint local landscapes, figurative works and celebrity portraits in various media, which I sell locally and online. Painting gives me enormous pleasure, so I hope that my work communicates something of the joy I get from making it.
There is nothing quite like the thrill of plein air painting (or the challenge!), so I am out and about as much as possible in the summer months. I am spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning Sussex landscapes, but I also make painting pilgrimages to ancient sacred sites such as Stonehenge, Avebury and Castlerigg.
The Feminine, the Sacred and protecting our Blessed Earth are the dominant themes of my figurative work, where the lines between Pagan and Christian iconography often blur.
Recently, I have embarked on a new genre – celebrity portraits. Portraiture is proving to be incredibly challenging, but equally rewarding, so hopefully the likeness will come more easily with each new piece.
Would you like an affordable commissioned painting of a favourite face or place? Realising someone's vision is such an exciting and satisfying undertaking, so I'd love to hear from you. Examples of recent commissions can be seen on my website (link below).
