I have always been interested in painting and colour. As I am a Christian, I am inspired by God’s creation around me. I am always developing my art in both my painting and my glass work. More recently I have moved into mixed media, exploring textures and colours. I have exhibited in the Brighton Artists Open Houses from 2005 to 2013, in the August arts festival at Shoreham Methodist Church, and at other venues.
I create mosaics from china ornaments and crockery, which I find in car boot sales, charity shops and antique shops. Sometimes I use family heirloom crockery when making a piece for a family member. The pieces vary in size and complexity. I am happy to take commissions, although all the designs are individual and depend on what I find on my travels. However, any favourite elements you have can be included.
I work with a variety of materials. I paint in oils, acrylics and various types of ink. I collect bits and pieces from the beach, natural and man made and often incorporate these in collages and mosaics. Some of my work reflects my travels but mostly it is inspired by the animals, plants and landscapes that surround me.
I’m a Sussex-based artist who enjoys working in different media. My watercolours are inspired by nature, including our beautiful South Downs. My prints are mostly made from paintings done on my travels. I regularly take painting and hiking trips in mountains such as the Alps. I make mosaic mirrors and linocuts and also carve in wood. I am happy to undertake commissions, including for customised paintings and mosaics.
