The stone is the dominant force and inspiration in Rachael’s work and different stones unconsciously produce their own particular style of work.

I like a big project and next year I’ve got one – I’ve been asked to paint four landscapes for the Horsham District Year of Culture and exhibit them during a solo show in September. So far we’ve chosen the four views, I’ve met some lovely people, been scared by a lot of cows and finally produced some sketches. Read on for the full story.
My ceramic work is mostly centred around the vessel form, although I also enjoy making flat wall pieces and jewellery. As an Art teacher for many years, specialising in ceramics, I find much of my inspiration came from the research that is necessary when delivering the Art GCSE and A level syllabus.
